Street Cleanup Schedule
The Madelia Street Department is requesting no parking on streets on even days and no parking on avenues on odd days to assist with street cleanup this fall. This is voluntary but will assist in cleanup. All vehicles parked on the streets in Madelia must move every 24 hours by ordinance. All boats, trailers, and campers must be taken off the streets by October 1st. Thank you for your assistance.
Grass Clippings Notice
Please do not blow the clippings into the street.
When mowing your lawn, make the first few passes with the lawnmower blowing the grass clippings into the lawn; not the street. If there are grass clippings on the street or sidewalk, use a broom or leaf blower to blow them back into the lawn. Do not use a hose to wash them into the street or storm drains. Keeping your leaves and lawn clippings out of the streets and gutters will prevent clogging of the storm sewers and have significant benefits for our local lakes and streams.
