SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED
SALE OF LAND
IN THE CITY OF MADELIA WATONWAN COUNTY, MINNESOTA
The Madelia Economic Development Authority (EDA) hereby gives Notice of a Special Meeting Public Hearing to be held on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 6:00p.m. in the Basement of the Firehall located at 116 West Main Street, Madelia, Minnesota, to consider the proposed sale of land. At the hearing, the EDA will receive comments from the public, discuss whether the proposed sale is in the best interests of the City and its people, discuss whether the proposed transactions further the City’s general plan of economic development and discuss any conditions and restrictions that may be appropriate. The property subject to the proposed sale is legally described as follows:
- Lot 9, Block 5, River View Heights Madelia, Minnesota

Riverview Heights – Water Tower
The new water tower at our Riverview Heights Subdivision has been placed. We share with you a few photos of the progress over the last couple of months.
PUBLIC NOTICE:
FLUSHING MAINS/HYDRANTS
The City of Madelia’s Water Department will be flushing water mains/hydrants beginning May 16th through the 22nd. The city flushes the mains to keep the mains open and flowing with the least amount of matter in the lines.
What does hydrant flushing do?
Hydrant flushing is the quick release of water from fire hydrants. It ensures adequate water flow is available to fire fighters, residents and businesses. It also improves water quality by clearing iron and other mineral deposits from the water mains.
If you have discolored water, after the flushing has been completed in your area, run your tap water until the water is clear.
