The Madelia Fire Department has 30 volunteer firefighters including two EMT’s and several first responders. With the availability of seven different trucks, the Madelia Fire Department can respond to structural, wildland, and a variety of other types of fires. The firefighters are also trained in auto extrication, confined space rescue, or any other emergency where help is needed. The Madelia Fire Department provides services to Madelia Township and parts of Riverdale, Rosendale, and Fieldon Townships in Watonwan County and parts of Ceresco and Lincoln Townships in Blue Earth County. They cover 115 square miles with a population of 3,268.
