Offices for Election in the City of Madelia
Office to be voted on include:
*Two (2) Council positions for a four-year term
The first day to file for candidacy for the City of Madelia General Election is Tuesday, July 30, 2024 with the last day to file being Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
Each candidate must file an affidavit of candidacy and pay the $2.00 filing fee. Filings will be taken at City Hall, 18 Drew Ave NE, Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm. Filings will close on the last day at 5:00 p.m. The affidavits of candidacy must be filed in the office of Madelia City Hall and filing fee of $2.00 paid prior to 5:00PM on August 13, 2024.
The general election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
Polling Location
The City of Madelia’s polling location is located at 18 Drew Ave NE, in the City Hall Chambers. Use the Polling Place Finder to locate your precinct and find directions to the polling location. Be sure to register early to avoid long lines at the pools. Poll hours are 7:00a.m. to 8:00p.m.
Registration and Absentee Voting
Voter registration and absentee voting, is conducted by the Watonwan County Auditor’s Office, 710 Second Avenue South, St. James, MN 56081, (507) 375-1210 or by visiting the Watonwan County election information section. Check to see if you are already registered at the Minnesota Secretary of State website.
