Request for Proposal – Snow Removal

2025 Sidewalk Snow Removal

Introduction:
The City of Madelia is requesting snow removal bids for the 2025 season for property owners/occupants of a property adjacent to public sidewalks that do not remove the snow/ice within 24 hours of the last snowfall per City Ordinance.

Scope of Services:
This Request for Bid is for snow removal for the 2025 season for property owners/occupants of a property adjacent to public sidewalks that snow/ice is not removed within 24 hours of the last snowfall.

The snow removal must be conducted in an efficient, professional manner. Snow removal shall be done using snow removal equipment sized appropriately for this job.

The scope of this snow removal quote will be based on a “per property” bid.
Definition of “per property” is defined as all properties are billed the same. The contractor is responsible for considering if the property is a corner lot or 60’ front sidewalk, the City’s fee schedule only list one amount and that is for all properties.

The measurements used for billing purposes will be directed from the Chief of Police. The Chief of Police and staff will identify the properties that need to be addressed and will communicate with the contractor about what properties need to be cleared of snow.

Each billing invoice must include the addresses and or parcel #’s along with timestamped photo of the property sidewalk before and after snow was cleared.

The City of Madelia reserves the right to reject any and/or all quotes.

Statement of content of Bid:
The submittal for bid for sidewalk snow removal shall include:

1.Request for Bid
2.Insurance certification verifying adequate insurance and terms.

A Certificate of Insurance including $1,000,000.00 per occurrence minimum and other amounts acceptable to the City of Madelia will be required prior to beginning work. These insurance limits must remain in effect for a full year from the time of this contract start: January 1, 2025-December 31, 2025.

WATONWAN COUNTY TRANSIT AND SALES USE TAX

TRANSIT SALES TAX NOTICE EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1ST 2025

On September 24, 2024, the Watonwan County Board of Commissioners approved by resolution the establishment of a 0.5% Transportation Sales Tax.

The tax is effective January 1, 2025, and will continue until revenues raised are sufficient to finance the identified transportation improvements.

AVISO DE IMPUESTO SOBRE LAS VENTAS DE TRANSITO EFECTIVO A PARTIR DEL 1 DE ENERO DE 2025

El 24 de septiembre de 2024, la Junta de Comisionados del Condado de Watonwan aprobó mediante resolución el establecimiento de un Impuesto sobre las Ventas de Transporte del 0,5%.

El impuesto entra en vigor el 1 de enero de 2025 y continuará hasta que los ingresos recaudados sean suficientes para financiar las mejoras de transporte identificadas.
