Campground at Watona Park

Families and groups are sure to enjoy camping in this well maintained, shady park. Watona Campground contains 28 campsites, 14 of which may be held by reservation at any one time. Hookups for water and electricity, tables, fire pits, and modern comfort stations with showers are available. Primitive sites for tents are also available with an on-site manager.

Reservations (New in 2010)

The reservation fee is seven dollars ($7.00) per campsite. All fees for reserving campsites are non-refundable. Telephone reservations for campsites will be accepted beginning April 1st of each calendar year. Reservations may be made by calling: 507-642-3314. All campsites must be cleaned and vacated by Noon (12:00 p.m.) on check out day. Watona Campground does accept large group reservations at the discretion of the Park Board. Extra fees may be requested to cover any additional expenses for taking large group reservations.

Rules

  • No more than one camper (unit) will be allowed on sites 1 through 14.
  • No tents should be set up along the fence line next to the golf course.
  • In the event you stay seven days in a row, the seventh day is free.
  • Please pay upon arrival.
  • No clothes lines
  • NO FIREARMS
  • No fireworks of ANY kind
  • Sorry - No Refunds
  • Build fires only in the provided fire rings. Firewood can be purchased from the Park Attendant.
  • Security- the grounds are patrolled by the Madelia Police Department. Please do not leave small items lay around. The City will not be held responsible for any lost or stolen articles.
  • Please keep pets leashed at all times. Do not leave your pet unattended. Due to children in the park area and individuals barefoot we ask that you please clean up your pet feces.
  • Please dispose of your trash in the dumpster located near the comfort station.
  • Please be a good neighbor, quiet time is between 11:00 pm and 8:00 am
