Full-Time Police Officer

The City of Madelia is accepting applications for a full-time police officer position.  Candidates must be POST licensed or eligible to be licensed.  Previous law enforcement experience is desirable, but not mandatory.  Cover letter, copy of full-time POST license or letter indicating eligibility to be licensed, resume, and application must be received by February 1, 2019, at 4:00 p.m.  Faxed documents and applications will not be accepted.  Starting wage for 2019 is $21.37/hr plus a $1.00 license premium per hour, and an excellent benefit package.  Officers may have on call hours before or after their work shifts compensated at $7.00/hr plus 3 hour minimum call out pay.  Officers are required to live within 5 miles of the police department to meet the 15 minute response time while on call.
