Businesses and organizations kick off the winter holiday season in Madelia on the Friday before Thanksgiving every year. To put a bright spin on the day many local businesses offer free refreshments and special deals during the day and in the early evening hours. As the daylight dims, children of all ages can pet the reindeers and talk to Santa Claus in person. A lighted parade starts at 6:30 p.m. with a processing of lighted parade floats as people line Main Street.

Caroloers and musicians often roam the street singing/playing christmas carols. For more information you may contact the Chamber of Commerce at 507-642-8822.
